The hospital is a 291-bed acute care facility featuring the San Diego Spine & Joint Center, a highly credentialed acute rehabilitation center, a modern cardiac catheterization lab, comprehensive inpatient and outpatient surgical services, 24-hour emergency services, and behavioral health services on the hospital and Bayview campuses.
Responsibilities
- Mental Health Worker - Inpatient:
- Under the direction and supervision of the RN, LVN, or Charge RN, assist licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care, including activities of daily living.
- Support unit functions and maintain a safe, clean environment for patients, visitors, and co-workers.
- Function as part of the interdisciplinary care team, communicating pertinent patient information to the supervising RN.
- Perform clerical duties as assigned and provide basic nursing care for adult and geriatric patients.
- Operate within Nursing Structure Standards, Hospital/Nursing Policy, and state regulatory and accrediting requirements.
- Mental Health Worker - Outpatient:
- Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, RN, and Program Director, carry out activities of daily living programs and individual treatment plans for psychiatric patients.
Requirements
- Must have a current and valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) issued by the State, or a minimum of one year of experience working as a Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.
- One year of prior mental health experience preferred.
- Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.
Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $23.00 to $26.22 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
