Mental Health Therapist
Department: The UW-Stevens Point Counseling Center is currently staffed by 7 permanent clinicians including the Director. The primary function is to provide individual psychotherapy, group therapy, and crisis response to UW-Stevens Point students, as well as education and prevention programming to the campus at large. About the role
This is a part-time (15-20 hours per week) hourly/non-exempt, university staff position under the direct supervision of the Director of Counseling Center. The role involves providing short-term counseling, assessment, and crisis intervention to students experiencing personal, emotional, behavioral, academic, or mental health concerns.
Responsibilities
- Provide short-term counseling to students
- Conduct assessments and crisis interventions
- Support students with personal, emotional, behavioral, academic, or mental health concerns
Requirements
- Master’s degree in counseling, Clinical Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy
- Current Wisconsin State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT
- Clinical supervision may be available for individuals working towards licensure
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Qualifications
- Experience in a higher education mental health setting (preferred)
- Experience working with young adults (preferred)
- Experience providing clinical care using teletherapy modalities (preferred)
- Experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems (preferred)
Pay
Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting hourly rate of $50, commensurate with the candidate’s education, related experience, and qualifications.
Schedule
Part-time position, 15-20 hours per week.
