About the role
Kaniksu Community Health is a non-profit, award-winning Community Health Center located in north Idaho. We provide integrated, team-based healthcare services, including medical, dental, and behavioral health, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Our mission is to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible, approachable, and affordable for all.
Responsibilities
- Maintain active and current licensure, and participate in continuing educational activities to stay updated on the latest standards in Behavioral Health Services.
- Provide comprehensive health education and promote disease prevention to target populations.
- Prescribe and carry out, or direct others in carrying out, appropriate treatment based on clinical protocols and guidelines.
- Understand and manage the use of common medications and their side effects.
- Educate patients about behavioral health conditions and promote overall health and well-being.
- Create and implement individualized health care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Record patient-provider interactions accurately in the medical record.
- Be aware of the stressors affecting KCH patient populations and collaborate effectively with colleagues and community partners.
Requirements
- Current License in the State of Idaho as a Behavioral Health Provider.
- Clearance through the National Practitioner Database.
- Proven clinical competence and experience in providing primary and preventive health services.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Experience with rural community health care and public health principles.
- A high level of personal and professional integrity.
- Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges and work under FTCA coverage.
- CPR (BLS) certification, ACLS preferred.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic principles of health, illness, and wellness, including current best practices in preventive and primary behavioral health care.
- Experience with electronic health records and computer literacy.
