About the role
Kaniksu Community Health is a non-profit, award-winning Community Health Center located in north Idaho. We provide integrated, team-based healthcare services, focusing on prevention, wellness, medical, dental, and behavioral health for all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Responsibilities
- Maintain active and current licensure, and participate in continuing educational activities to stay updated on the latest standards of practice for Behavioral Health Services.
- Provide comprehensive behavioral health diagnostic, treatment, referral, and preventive services that are culturally and professionally competent.
- Prescribe and carry out, or direct others in carrying out, appropriate treatment based on approved clinical protocols and guidelines.
- Show a working knowledge of common medications, their indications, actions, and potential side effects.
- Educate patients about behavioral health conditions and promote overall health and well-being.
- Create and implement effective individualized health care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Record patient-provider interactions accurately in the medical record.
- Be aware of the stressors affecting KCH patient populations and work collaboratively with other professionals and community partners.
Requirements
- Current License in the State of Idaho as a Behavioral Health Provider.
- Clearance through the National Practitioner Database.
- Proven clinical competence and experience in providing primary and preventive health services.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively.
Qualifications
- High level of personal and professional integrity.
- Excellent judgment, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Unrestricted license to practice in the State of Idaho.
- CPR (BLS) certification, with ACLS preferred.
- Ability to be designated as a Medicare and Medicaid provider in Idaho.
- Computer literacy and willingness to use electronic health records.
