About the role

K&I Healthcare Services is a Maryland-based organization dedicated to supporting the recovery of individuals with mental illness and substance abuse. The Mental Health Therapist- Advanced License serves in a supervisory role, providing mental health evaluations, assessments, and individualized treatment to assigned clients. Specialization areas include co-occurring SUD and mental health disorders, children and families, trauma, and neurofeedback.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on client needs and goals, monitor treatment progress, and follow up at disposition.
  • Maintain a full-time case load and provide an average of 20-25 clinical services* weekly; 4-5 sessions daily, Monday through Friday.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation within the electronic health system, including the submission of clinical documentation within 48 hours from the date of service.
  • Make referrals when appropriate.
  • Uphold the Professional Code of Ethics for the licensing body while maintaining strict confidentiality according to the federal and state guidelines and requirements.
  • Take responsibility for personal development to ensure current knowledge in the profession and maintain licensing board regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on current state licensing regulations and as directed by the Director of Clinical Services, as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
  • Active Maryland LCSW-C, LCPC, etc., independent clinical license in good standing.
  • At least 2 years of experience providing therapeutic services to co-occurring SUD and Mental health populations.
  • Strong understanding of ethical and legal standards of clinical practice.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices, trauma-informed care, and person-centered approaches.
  • Knowledge of Maryland's mental health system and Medicaid/MCO programs / COMAR.
  • HIPAA training required within 30 days of hire.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through with time-sensitive matters.
  • Respect for and adherence to client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification Preferred (or willing to obtain within first 6 months of hire).

Qualifications

  • Experience in treating co-occurring SUD and mental health disorders.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and person-centered approaches.
  • Knowledge of Maryland's mental health system and Medicaid/MCO programs / COMAR.
  • Compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Preferred CPR/First Aid Certification.

Pay

$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1-hour mandatory lunch break)
