Mental Health Technician- PRN / Per Diem

About the role

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) is a vital part of Midwest Center for Youth and Families’ treatment team. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position. Available schedules include every Sunday - Thursday ($2/hr schedule premium for this schedule) and every Tuesday - Saturday ($3/hr schedule premium for this schedule). There is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
• Implement elements of treatment plan and identified interventions to provide quality care
• Document and communicate client behaviors
• Follow clinical and unit programming
• Aid with patient groups and activities
• Provide DBT skills coaching with patients
• Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required; Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• One year of experience working in a psychiatric setting with patients aged 10-18 years preferred
• College student who has obtained or is pursuing their degree in behavioral health, psychology, nursing or human services are preferred
