Mental Health Technician - Outpatient

• Monday–Friday, 8:00am–12:15pm

About the role

As a Mental Health Technician (MHT), you'll be an integral part of our treatment team, providing continuous care, supervision, and positive role modeling to patients across various age groups from preschool to geriatrics. Working under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you'll contribute to creating a therapeutic environment that fosters patient support and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Exercise judgment in patient interactions
• Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team and provide information for development and revision
• Employ crisis-intervention techniques and use facility-approved CPI techniques
• Assist patients through discharge, guide in adjusting to life changes
• Comply with policies for a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment, practicing universal precautions and responding to patient care priorities

Qualifications

• Education: High School Degree or equivalent preferred; Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred
• Experience: One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred
• Additional Skill Requirements: May be required to work overtime and flexible hours

Pay

This is a PRN role and the compensation for this role is $25.00 an hour. Consideration will be provided to experience and skill level.
