Responsibilities

• Observe and record patient information pertinent to the treatment plan
• Welcome new patients through specific admission protocols
• Assist with the patient discharge process
• Maintain direct patient observation
• Lead patient education, community, goal, and activity groups
• Assist nursing staff by taking vital signs and helping patients perform ADLs
• Serve as first responder to patient situations, including codes, behavioral outbursts, contraband attempts, and medical issues
• Adjust therapeutic approach based on acuity, age, gender, and cultural considerations
• Perform duties consistent with Voyages Behavioral Health policies, procedures, and guidelines

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent (preferred)
• Certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) where required by state (preferred)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Crisis management certification per hospital policy and standards (required)

Qualifications

• No experience required
• Minimum of two to three years of experience in an acute hospital, rehabilitation hospital, or skilled nursing unit (preferred)
