About the role

The primary function of the MHT is to assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete. The MHT works as an essential part of the patient care team. As the member who spends most of their time in the presence of the patient, compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills are necessary along with excellent communication skills both to and from the patient and family, and to and from the rest of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with basic patient care, monitoring, and hygiene
• Help ensure care is complete
• Work as an essential part of the patient care team
• Demonstrate compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team

Requirements

• 12 college-level credit hours, including a passing grade in English Composition (C or higher)
• Overall GPA of 2.0 or greater (transcripts will be verified)
• 3 months of experience
