Mental Health Technician I- Emergency Department

Full-time, benefits-eligible position.

About the role

The Mental Health Technician, under RN direct supervision, serves as the milieu coordinator. Cares for patients during program hours, monitors specified areas and oversees the daily coordination of patient care duties while maintaining professional boundaries. Provides and maintains a clean, safe, and quiet environment.

Schedule

• 36 hours per week
• Night shift: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.
• Every other weekend

Pay

Pay range: $18.85 – $28.30 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the therapeutic milieu under RN supervision
• Monitor designated patient-care areas
• Oversee daily patient-care duties
• Maintain professional boundaries
• Ensure a clean, safe, and quiet environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institute
• CPR certified
• Crisis Prevention Institute Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certified
• CNA license preferred

Qualifications

• Two or more years of related experience preferred
• Experience utilizing Trauma-Informed philosophy in patient care
• Ability to handle crisis situations calmly
• Experience managing confidential patient information
