Mental Health Technician (FULL TIME) (NO DEGREE)

Brentwood is a 120-bed acute psychiatric facility in Flowood, Mississippi, accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE®. We treat depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, phobias, and other conditions to help patients lead healthy, happy lives.
About the role
Provides care to patients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment. Assists patients with activities of daily living, attends to behavioral issues, and aids in crisis intervention as needed. Works closely with clinical staff (activity therapists, social workers, nurses) to conduct therapeutic groups and ensure the patient program schedule is followed.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL), including hygiene, meals, and laundry.
- Actively supervise patients during daily activities, documenting behaviors, conditions, and progress according to policy and clinical standards.
- Ensure programming occurs as scheduled.
- Take and record vital signs, both manually and with equipment.
- Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team for each patient.
- Maintain awareness of each patient’s individualized plan of care, including goals and interventions.
Requirements
- Must be available to attend full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1, Monday–Friday (8 AM–5 PM).
- High school graduate or equivalent (minimum).
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health-related field and two years of experience in a psychiatric/inpatient or outpatient setting (preferred).
