Mental Health Technician
Position Summary
The Mental Health Technician is an opportunity to expand your role in health care through collaboration with an interdisciplinary treatment team. This role involves providing a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients, assisting with basic patient care, and recovery needs.
Responsibilities
- Support the unit through excellent patient customer service and clinic management assistance
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, front office staff, and clinic management to ensure comprehensive health care outcomes
- Perform a variety of functions within the clinic setting requiring specialized knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
- Assist with maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior, conducting patient room searches, reporting unsafe conditions, and applying appropriate emotional and physical support
- Provide and document interventions in a variety of modalities individually matched to the needs of each patient
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or any other human services field preferred
- In lieu of education, one year of experience is acceptable
- Must obtain a Nursing Assistant Registered (CNA) prior to start date
- If assigned to Navos Hospital, BLS certification is required prior to starting
- If assigned to Navos Hospital, First Aid training is required prior to starting
- If assigned to Navos Hospital, Food Handler's Card is required within first two weeks of hire date
- Washington State Counselor Agency Affiliated Registered (ACCR) credential must be applied for within thirty (30) days of hire

Pay and Benefits
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, and retirement benefits, and paid time off. The pay scale is $25.60 - $37.60 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
