Job Summary
You will be vital support for Behavioral Health's front and back office functions, assisting psychiatrists, patients, and the care management team. You'll ensure smooth operations, quality medication management, and clinical problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic medication triage, support services, and take vital signs for behavioral health patients.
- Manage front office reception, patient registration, insurance/copay processing, and telephones.
- Handle back office tasks like refill requests, injections, and accurate EHR documentation.
- Maintain a secure environment and act as a resource for emergency situations.
- Perform basic nursing tasks such as vital signs, blood pressure, specimen collection, ACCU checks, weighing, and assisting with ADLs.
- Aid the nurse in carrying out orders within the scope of practice.
- Assist patients in dealing with relationship difficulties, teach appropriate socialization skills, and facilitate various supportive, classroom, and psych-educational activities.
- Communicate effectively within a diverse and multicultural environment using both verbal and written methods.
- Maintain appropriate communication networks and harmonious working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team and other departments.
Requirements
- High School Graduate with at least 1 year of experience in mental health.
- Basic Life Support - CPR upon hire or Basic Life Support Instructor upon hire.
- First Aid within 6 months upon hire.
- Preferred Bachelors degree in Human Services or one year experience in the Behavioral Health field.
- Graduate from a Psychiatric Assistant and Nurse Aide training program upon hire.
