Essential Functions (Principal Duties And Job Responsibilities)
- Affords assistance during supervised group therapy sessions, recreational activities, and occupational therapy sessions.
- Accompanies clients on excursions, clinic visits, personal, business or other appointments as assigned.
- Maintains constant supervision and monitoring of clients throughout their work shift.
- Facilitates new client orientation within 24 hours of their arrival, ensuring full comprehension of program rules and procedures.
- Respects and safeguards client rights and confidentiality, intervening appropriately and reporting violations when necessary.
- Attends and participates in client care conferences and staff meetings, as well as attends funding agency training activities as required.
- Behaves courteously, tactfully, and discreetly in interactions with the public, other staff, and clients.
- Maintains accurate records and paperwork in accordance with agency standards.
- Contributes to process improvement/project teams as needed.
- Documents critical incidents, problem areas, and observations during each shift on duty.
- Performs basic housekeeping duties as assigned, including coordination with housekeeping to clean client rooms after discharge.
Education And Experience Required
- A high school diploma or GEDA.
- One year of experience in a healthcare setting or completion of college courses in a healthcare-related field.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Tennessee For-Hire (F) endorsement.
- Driving record must not contain items that prohibit or inflate the cost of insuring a driver.
Education And Experience Preferred
- Experience in working with patients with substance use disorders.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Bilingual (Spanish).
