Mental Health Technician 1

About the Role

Inova Mt. Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Mental Health Technician 1 to join the Behavioral Health team. This role will be full-time night shift 7:00 pm – 7:00 am with a rotating weekend.

Unit Overview

With the demand for behavioral health services continuing to grow, IMVH extended our 30-bed behavioral health unit to 50 beds in mid 2023. The new 20-bed unit is designed with the specific needs of this specialized population in mind. Additionally, the current behavioral health unit was also upgraded and modernized. IMVH behavioral health team received the 2021 Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience from Press Ganey. This accolade recognizes organizations ranked in the 95th percentile amongst other healthcare facilities across the nation.

Hospital Setting

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is a 237-bed hospital offering patients convenience and state-of-the-art care in a community environment. Our hospital sits on 26 acres of beautifully landscaped open space, where patients and team members alike can find moments of serenity in our specially designed gardens.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse
• Collaborates with care team members in implementing a plan of care to meet individualized and developmental patient care outcomes
• Partners with the Registered Nurse to create a professional development plan to provide team members with the necessary skills to deliver up to date patient care

Qualifications

• High School or GED
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association required

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous medical experience
