Responsibilities

  • Direct care of mental health patients based on established standards and licensure guidelines.
  • Perform supportive, trauma-informed care to patients/families, including a safe and therapeutic milieu.
  • Complete routine safety checks and ensure constant attendance on patients as ordered.
  • Document patient information accurately and report behavioral changes and mental status updates.
  • Assist with activities of daily living and collaborate with the treatment team.
  • Support the unit lead in clerical duties and daily operations.
  • Comply with the safety management program and de-escalation techniques.
  • Respond to the mission and goals of the hospital and mental health unit.
  • Promote a patient and family-centered, trauma-informed environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and modeling of Dayton Children’s values.
  • Strong therapeutic communication skills.
  • Accepts delegated tasks and reports patient information appropriately.
  • Handles sensitive patient information with confidentiality and privacy in mind.
  • Knowledgeable about and responsive to the mission and goals of the hospital and mental health unit.

Benefits
