Responsibilities
- Direct care of mental health patients based on established standards and licensure guidelines.
- Perform supportive, trauma-informed care to patients/families, including a safe and therapeutic milieu.
- Complete routine safety checks and ensure constant attendance on patients as ordered.
- Document patient information accurately and report behavioral changes and mental status updates.
- Assist with activities of daily living and collaborate with the treatment team.
- Support the unit lead in clerical duties and daily operations.
- Comply with the safety management program and de-escalation techniques.
- Respond to the mission and goals of the hospital and mental health unit.
- Promote a patient and family-centered, trauma-informed environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and modeling of Dayton Children’s values.
- Strong therapeutic communication skills.
- Accepts delegated tasks and reports patient information appropriately.
- Handles sensitive patient information with confidentiality and privacy in mind.
- Knowledgeable about and responsive to the mission and goals of the hospital and mental health unit.

Benefits
