Mental Health Tech Behavioral

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis evaluations and assessments in Psychiatry under direct supervision.
• Deliver individual and group educational therapy.
• Collaborate with the treatment team, including psychiatrists, mental health counselors, registered professional nurses, and social workers.
• Maintain working relationships with community health, welfare, and social agencies while adhering to Olean General Hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program with a major in mental health counseling or its equivalent (Master’s degree preferred).
• Successful completion of a Basic Life Support (BLS) course.
• Completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.

Experience

• Previous experience in a mental health setting preferred.
• Ability to engage in complex decision‑making, exercise independent judgment, and apply critical thinking.
• Capacity to maintain composure and effectiveness in emergency situations and while handling multiple priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Working Conditions

• Department: OGH Psychiatry.
• Work arrangement: On‑site, non‑union.
• Standard bi‑weekly hours: 75.
• Weekend/Holiday work required.
• On‑call duties required, with rotation schedule.

Schedule

• Shift: 1 (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM).
• Full‑time position.

Pay

Salary range: $16.54 – $22.74 per hour, paid bi‑weekly. Wage will be determined based on factors such as candidate’s experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
