Mental Health Tech

Schedule

Shifts available: 2 p.m. – 10 p.m.; 10 p.m. – 6 a.m.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and security of clients.
• Ensure the quality of the environmental management system.
• Serve as a consistent and positive role model for the young men entrusted to our care.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Pass an extensive background check and drug test (drug test required).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No felonies, misdemeanors, or VPO on record; such candidates cannot be accepted.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor’s degree in Human Services preferred.
• Experience: Minimum one year working with psychiatric or emotionally disturbed youth preferred; CNA, personal care attendant, or rehab services experience may substitute.
• Licensure/Certification: Must obtain CPR and HWC certification.
• High levels of initiative; able to work with minimal direction.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and provide excellent customer service.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.
• Skills in courteous interaction with the public and staff; basic knowledge of human behavior or psychology.
• Strong prioritization, time‑management, problem‑solving, and social‑skill abilities.
• Empathy toward patients; experience with patients highly desired.
• Ability to teach or assist with activities of daily living.
• Ability to conduct educational and treatment groups and accurately document them.
• Capability to function in crisis situations without over‑reacting; maintain emotional composure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• HIPAA compliance: access to and entry of information in medical records of assigned patients only.
• Self‑control in potentially volatile situations, including verbal or physical confrontation.
• Ability to work amid distractions, handle frequent interruptions, and shift between tasks.
• Physical ability to exert up to 100 lb of force and to lift, carry, push, or pull objects.
• Visual acuity (with or without correction) sufficient for administrative tasks and patient observation.

Pay

$12.00 – $15.00 per hour
