Mental Health Tech

Full time - 12-hour night shifts (7pm - 7am) in MacNeal Hospital's Behavioral Health Services Department, an adult psychiatric department with five units and 69 beds. Unit size ranges from 11 to 14 beds. We provide comprehensive care for a wide spectrum of psychiatric diagnoses and alcohol detoxification. Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is a nationally ranked academic, quaternary care system based in Chicago's western suburbs.

About the role

The Mental Health Counselor works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide behavioral intervention based on assessed needs for patients with related psychiatric conditions. You will implement assigned aspects of the treatment plan under supervision, facilitate or lead group psychoeducational sessions in the milieu, and document the sessions. You will also assist in patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, and participate in the care needs of all inpatients as requested or directed by the Unit RN.

Requirements

• Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of two (2) years of college with coursework in psychology or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field strongly preferred.
• 1-2 years of previous job-related experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years inpatient psych experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• CPI certification preferred.

Pay

Salary Range: $20.02 - $31.03 per hour. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
