About the role

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking Mental Health Support Specialist Relief Staff to support our Long-Term Residential programs. This is an entry-level position that provides person-centered engagement and interventions, medication administration, and general program oversight and safety. This position offers the opportunity to train and learn about multiple service areas within our Long-Term Residential Programs.

Schedule

Primary Location (Montreal Courts): Monday-Friday (8am-6:30pm)
Other Long-Term Residential Programs: Operates 24/7

While this position is assigned to a primary location, individuals may work at other locations within Long-Term Residential with limited notice. A minimum of 16 hours per pay period is required, with a specific schedule determined based on program needs. A portion of shifts will be pre-planned to ensure critical coverage, while the remainder allows flexible assignment choices from open shifts.

Pay

Hiring range: $20.50/hour
Shift differential: $1/hour for shifts between 3:00pm-11:00pm and 11:00pm-7:00am
Hiring bonus: $1,000 for external candidates

Responsibilities

  • Must have physical presence onsite.
  • Document interactions with clients into the organization’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) and program-specific documentation systems, ensuring clear and concise communication with clients, staff, and other parties.
  • Exhibit behavior consistent with customer service and professional standards established by the organization, division, and program.
  • Administer medication in accordance with organization and program policies and procedures.
  • Using person-centered principles, actively engage with clients in their daily activities and develop relationships to support their individual goals.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation for clients experiencing mental health symptoms or emotional responses while prioritizing client and program safety.
  • Teach and coach independent living skills as they relate to individual goals and/or treatment plans.
  • Full-time staff are part of an on-call rotation.
  • Attend mandatory team meetings.
