Mental Health Security Technician

Responsibilities

• Aid patients with daily living activities.
• Monitor and report on patient behaviors and interactions.
• Maintain a safe environment and report unusual behaviors.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities and provide emotional support.
• Collaborate with licensed nursing staff to implement care plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document patient behavior.
• Promote a respectful and inclusive environment for patients.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Additional education or certifications in mental health or healthcare preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare setting, especially with psychiatric patients.
• Previous experience as a nursing assistant, psychiatric aide, or similar role.
• Experience with adult male psychiatric patients or in behavioral health units.

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with patients and staff.
• Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient behavior.
• Effective communication skills for working within a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic understanding of mental health conditions and treatment modalities.
