Job Overview
The Mental Health Screener responds to the emotional needs of those requesting assistance through screening, assessment, crisis intervention, referral and outreach.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in social work, psychology, nursing or related clinical field
- NJ Screener Certified, or eligible within 1 year of hire
- 2 years experience in a mental health setting, preferably in crisis intervention/emergency services (preferred)

Essential Functions
- Facilitates voluntary/involuntary hospitalization of clients in accordance with the Emergency Services policies and procedures
- Fully documents all client contacts and submits in a timely manner
- Provides and completes all documentation records and forms as stipulated in the Emergency Services Department policies and procedures
- Provides crisis intervention, information, and referral services on the telephone, in the Emergency Room and throughout the community
- Briefs all unusual situation, incidents or difficulties encountered to the provision of emergency services to the attention of the Director or his/her designate
- Performs all other duties as assigned
