About the role
The HCA Healthcare Residency Program at Pinewood Springs is a year-long program designed to provide hands-on experience and establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills for future nurses.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced clinical training in a specialty area.
- Participate in monthly educational sessions.
- Undergo preceptorship training with a facility preceptor.
- Measure and evaluate skills through hands-on simulations.
- Mentor from experienced nurse leaders.
- Collaborate on an evidence-based practice project.
- Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care.
- Assess patient condition during admission and shifts.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered.
- Document care in the patient medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response.
- Notify provider and intervene if necessary.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about their medical condition, treatment plan, and medications.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and resolve issues proactively.
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
- No previous experience needed.
- Travel may be needed for training.
