Mental Health Resident Graduate Nurse RN

About the role

The HCA Healthcare Residency Program at Pinewood Springs is a year-long program designed to provide hands-on experience and establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills for future nurses.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced clinical training in a specialty area.
• Participate in monthly educational sessions.
• Undergo preceptorship training with a facility preceptor.
• Measure and evaluate skills through hands-on simulations.
• Mentor from experienced nurse leaders.
• Collaborate on an evidence-based practice project.
• Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care.
• Assess patient condition during admission and shifts.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered.
• Document care in the patient medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications.
• Monitor patient for therapeutic response.
• Notify provider and intervene if necessary.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about their medical condition, treatment plan, and medications.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and resolve issues proactively.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
• No previous experience needed.
• Travel may be needed for training.
