About the role

You will provide nursing care to individuals currently residing in the Oregon State Hospital, a forensic psychiatric facility. Responsibilities include administering medications as ordered by the provider, developing nursing plans of care, completing assessments, and responding to emergent psychiatric situations that could potentially be dangerous. You will also monitor staff work assignments and supervise staff to provide a therapeutic, safe, and secure milieu.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a valid and unencumbered Oregon Professional Registered Nurse license during the entire length of employment
  • If offered employment, the offer is contingent upon the outcome of an abuse check, criminal records check, and driving records check
  • Must satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must complete I-9 documentation within three days of hire to confirm authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship provided)

Pay

Salary range: $8,443.00 - $11,149.00 per month. The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying range. If the successful candidate qualifies for PERS, the salary range will increase by 6.95%.

Schedule

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • 100% on-site at the Oregon State Hospital (2600 Center St. NE, Salem, Oregon)
  • The Oregon State Hospital is a 24/7 facility, open on holidays
  • Position is represented by AFSCME
