Mental Health Recovery Home Specialist 2nd shift

About the role
The Recovery Specialist position is located in the Supervised Housing program working with adult clients in a group home setting. Recovery Specialists assist adult clients with daily living skills and provide hands-on skills teaching for budgeting, meal planning, and meal preparation. A level of flexibility is required for this position, as days and times may vary based on the immediate needs of the site.
Their ideal team member would be able to:
- Work independently while maintaining an open and effective line of communication with the team.
- Perform or learn to perform de-escalation techniques.
- Plan outings for clients independently and lead therapeutic group activities.
- Adapt their approach to teaching based on the client's personality.
- Maintain patience to teach a client how to do something instead of doing it for them.
- Establish a healthy work-life balance.
- Forget any preconceived notions of what mental illness looks like.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (cooking, cleaning, monitoring medications).
- Help clients safely access the community for basic needs and leisure activities.
Responsibilities
- Work prescribed hours and any additional hours deemed necessary for assigned responsibilities. Overtime may be required.
- Supervise and manage the behavior of residents and provide appropriate behavioral interventions and consequences.
- Implement therapeutic activities and facilitate the development of independent living skills.
- Develop and present all resident education.
- Consult with other staff members and plan daily therapeutic direction for the designated shift.
- Facilitate focal group discussion sessions.
- Attend all scheduled meetings, such as treatment plan reviews, shift meetings, or appropriate committee meetings.
- Ensure client service records are maintained consistent with regulations.
- Monitor self-administration of medicine by residents and record information on the medical log, if designated.
- Oversee the cleanliness of the house, resident house jobs, and the proper use of equipment and supplies.
- Serve as a member of the assigned team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
- Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the Code of Conduct and the framework of the law.
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
- Serve as a role model for other staff, clients, and customers, demonstrating positive guest relations.
- Assume other related responsibilities as delegated and assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
Schedule
Tuesday - Saturday, 3:30 PM - 11:30 PM.
Pay
Starting salary: $18.43/hour plus $0.50 shift differential. Based on education, experience, and credentials.
