About the role

The Mental Health Professional is the primary inpatient psychiatric clinician providing acute care and treatment as part of an integrated treatment team led by the attending physician. The Mental Health Professional is responsible for caring for and coordinating their assigned patients and families.

Responsibilities

  • Regular liaison with members of the treatment team
  • Psychosocial assessments
  • Individual and family sessions
  • Group therapy
  • Safety planning
  • Discharge planning
  • Aftercare follow-up
  • Liaison with community agencies as needed

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree - Required
  • 1 year Behavioral Health - Inpatient or Residential Treatment – Required

Licensures and certifications

  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required
  • ACSW Associate Clinical Social Worker OR AMFT Associate Marriage and Family Therapist - California Board of Behavioral Science - Required
  • CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training - Required within 30-days of hire and renewal annually or within 30-days of return from a leave of absence
  • If Hire/Transfers prior to 12/31/2006 - LMFT and/or LCSW Required. Effective 1/1/2007, for all Hires/Transfers - LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker - CA Board of Behavioral Sciences is required. Per the CDPH Program Flex 3838, John Muir Behavioral Health Center is approved to recruit and hire Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASWs), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs), and Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFTs). This grants program flexibility for California Code of Regulations T22 DIV5 CH2 ART6-71519(a), T22 DIV5 CH2 ART6-71519 through May 2026.

Pay

$55.27 - $76.50 hourly. Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure. Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.
