Responsibilities The Mental Health Professional (MHP) provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders. This role delivers a blend of direct clinical services, psychoeducation, program facilitation, and interdisciplinary collaboration, while supporting patients, families, and teams across the continuum of care. Clinical Assessment and Treatment Group Facilitation and Psychoeducation Family Systems and Recovery-Oriented Care Interdisciplinary Collaboration, Crisis Intervention, and SafetyEducation, Consultation, Program Support, Supervision, and Professional Development Qualifications Required Master’s Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or related field Fully licensed in the state you are practicing as a Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Counselor, Licensed Social Worker, or similar. CA: LP, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC Minimum of 2 years freedom from substance use problems. Current CPR Card or obtain within 30 days of hire Certification must be from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association Individual National Provider Identification (NPI) number Must be 18+ years of age Preferred Knowledge of Twelve Step treatment approaches and stages of recoveryKnowledge/training in addiction studiesWillingness to be licensed in other statesSpanish fluency Overview The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is the largest nonprofit addiction recovery organization in the United States.
