Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical assessment, intervention, case management and therapy to children and young people who are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties within a culture that emphasises family involvement
  • Aid with coverage of intake and crisis response functions within the service
  • Collaborate with clients, families and other services to ensure best outcomes for the clients
  • Nursing specific tasks regarding physical health checks and monitoring for the broader service including Eating disorder program
  • Provide multidisciplinary consultation to other team members and community services regarding assessment, formulation and implementation of a range of therapies for clients and their families
  • Maintain appropriate records related to service delivery and participate in quality improvement activities
  • Participate in Mental and Addiction’s Health performance management program

Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent OR Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent
Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
Approved postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.

Qualifications

Developmental Psychiatry Course or equivalent
Training and experience in providing child and youth mental health services

Skills

Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development especially further studies relevant to child, adolescent and young adult mental health.
Ability and/or interest in conducting research in the mental health field.
