Mental Health Nurse

Position Overview Provide professional nursing care in a mental health/psychiatric setting, developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients across various age groups including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Ensure adherence to departmental policies and safety standards while delivering comprehensive patient care, including assessments, medication administration, crisis intervention, and patient education. Key Responsibilities Assess and monitor patients' behavioral, emotional, and cognitive status;Coordinate treatments, administer medications, and facilitate therapy sessions;Document patient conditions, reactions, and treatments accurately;Educate patients and families on treatment regimens and safety;Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and follow safety protocols;Participate in quality improvement, administrative tasks, and staff training;Assist with emergency procedures and special tests, ensuring proper consent and safety measures. Qualifications And Skills Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program; bachelor’s degree preferred;Current RN licensure and CPR certification;Experience or bilingual skills in English and Spanish or Native languages are a plus;Ability to perform physical tasks involving lifting and moving patients;Knowledge of safety procedures, crisis intervention, and medication administration;Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on patient advocacy and safety.
