Mental Health Nurse

About the Role

Provide professional nursing care in a mental health/psychiatric setting, developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients across various age groups including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' behavioral, emotional, and cognitive status.
• Coordinate treatments, administer medications, and facilitate therapy sessions.
• Document patient conditions, reactions, and treatments accurately.
• Educate patients and families on treatment regimens and safety.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and follow safety protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement, administrative tasks, and staff training.
• Assist with emergency procedures and special tests, ensuring proper consent and safety measures.

Requirements

• Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN licensure and CPR certification.
• Experience or bilingual skills in English and Spanish or Native languages are a plus.
• Ability to perform physical tasks involving lifting and moving patients.

Skills

• Knowledge of safety procedures, crisis intervention, and medication administration.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on patient advocacy and safety.
