Mental Health Nurse

About the Role

Provide professional nursing care in a mental health/psychiatric setting, developing and implementing patient care and treatment plans to promote recovery.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' health status and observe behavior
• Perform triage and crisis intervention
• Administer medications and coordinate treatments
• Document progress and educate patients and families
• Facilitate communication among healthcare providers
• Ensure adherence to policies, safety standards, and quality improvement initiatives
• Participate in educational activities and administrative tasks
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure
• CPR certification
• Relevant experience in mental health/psychiatric nursing
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in hazardous environments with proper PPE
• Commitment to patient safety, emergency response, and continuous professional development

Qualifications & Skills

• Bilingual abilities (a plus)
• Experience working with diverse age groups (a plus)
