Mental Health LVN

About the role

The LVN / LPT provides direct client care including the administration of medications, including injections. Engages clients and families to determine physical health status. Formulates and implements an effective nursing care plan understanding psychiatric illness and its treatment as appropriate for Scope of Practice. Demonstrates an understanding of age-related development and other issues for the population(s).

Requirements

• Active, valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license.
• CPR certification.
• First Aid certification from an approved agency (such as the American Red Cross).
• One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience working in a program serving individuals with mental disabilities, or commitment to complete a minimum of 20 hours of regulatory on-the-job training within the first year of employment.
• Valid California Driver’s License (preferred).

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification.
• Current First Aid certification from an approved agency (such as the American Red Cross).

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of age-related development and other issues for the population(s).

Pay

Starting Compensation: 32.00 - 34.00 USD Per hour
