Mental Health Education Liaison

About the role

The Mental Health Education Liaison position is located at the Mathile Center for Mental Health and Wellness within the Mental Crisis Services department. The role involves collaborating with clinics inside and outside Dayton Children’s Hospital, implementing Zero Suicide and depression screenings, and educating schools, teachers, emergency departments, primary care offices, and other community partners about the services offered by Dayton Children’s Hospital, serving the Mental Health Administration at the Mathile Center.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinics of various specialties inside and outside of Dayton Children’s Hospital.
• Engage in the implementation of Zero Suicide and depression screenings.
• Collaborate with and educate schools, teachers, emergency departments, primary care offices, and other community partners regarding the services available at Dayton Children’s Hospital.
• Demonstrate knowledge of ambulatory clinic operations and capabilities in establishing goals and timelines.
• Apply strong communication skills to monitor progress and requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of behavioral health levels of care.
• Support mental health awareness outreach and education program reporting, support, and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program; Master’s degree preferred.
• Preferred certifications (hold at least one): Ohio Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Registered Nursing license in the State of Ohio.
• 3‑5 years of experience in behavioral health.

Skills

• Working knowledge of mental health diagnoses, signs, symptoms, and basic interventions.
• Working knowledge of levels of behavioral health care.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to establish goals and timelines and monitor progress.

Schedule

Full‑time, 40 hours per week, day shift, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
