Mental Health DSP
About the role
Mental Health DSPs at Envision Unlimited participate as members of a multidisciplinary team responsible for supervising, training, and implementing clients' treatment plans and behavior management plans. They facilitate all client activities and document as required by the multidisciplinary team, CARF Accreditation, and funders including Medicaid standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care and recovery-oriented services to clients with mental illness.
- Outline strengths, challenges, and accomplishments in clients’ treatment plans.
- Aid clients in achieving independent living goals through training in areas like activities of daily living, budgeting, transportation, and developing healthy relationships.
- Develop and adhere to a healthy menu based on clients’ dietary needs and assist in meal preparation.
- Supervise clients in community recreational activities and the administration of medications.
- Train clients on medication processes, usage, and side effects, and follow up with supervisors and medical professionals regarding any issues or concerns.
- Document medication use as required by DHS standards for each shift worked.
- Read and initial the communication log at the start of each shift and document services to clients as outlined in their ITP.
- Complete tasks such as household cleaning chores and conduct fire, tornado, and evacuation drills.
Requirements
- At least 21 years old
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to pass a criminal background check
- Valid Driver's License
- One year of social service experience, preferred
