Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Mental Health

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with personal care, such as bathing, shaving, dressing, oral hygiene, etc.
  • Provide a safe, healthy and clean living environment
  • Perform needed housekeeping duties
  • Provide assistance with tasks of daily living such as shopping, care of personal possessions, telephone use, and social/leisure activities
  • Observe for behavioral and physical changes in condition, and report as appropriate
  • Offer input into the development of the Treatment Plan
  • Maintain various records pertaining to individuals, following established documentation methods

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age, required.
  • Valid driver’s license, required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • 6 months experience working directly with individuals with mental health diagnosis and/or developmental disabilities, required.
