Local candidates only. Temporary position with potential to become permanent. 32 hours per week on a rotating schedule: Week 1 – Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM; Week 2 – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the admitting, discharging, and transferring process, ensuring patient safety, monitoring patient valuables during body and belonging searches, and entering proper data into the computer.
- Assists with case management duties, including one-on-one client contact each shift, family conferences (if needed), collaboration with other service providers, and follow-up with referral programs.
- Contributes to the assessment, individualized crisis prevention planning, discharge planning, and care coordination processes.
- Provides peer-to-peer support and psycho-education about wellness and recovery (if certified as a CPS).
- Acts as a liaison to inpatient facilities, case managers, psychiatrists, therapists, clinicians, referred agencies, and families to maintain communication for staff and clients.
- Leads or co-leads supportive psycho-educational groups.
- Participates in treatment team meetings, assists with the development of care plans, and reports any issues for the shift directly to the Registered Nurse.
- Records and reports all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the patient's safety status to the Registered Nurse.
- Monitors the patient milieu for safety issues and assists with promoting a positive therapeutic environment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned, such as meal preparation and some housekeeping.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field.
- Demonstrates a positive demeanor that allows for respectful and courteous interaction with all external and internal customers.
- Works cooperatively and effectively with others, with the ability to adapt to changes in the workplace.
- Stays current with maintaining professional status.
- Listens and seeks clarification when needed; responds well to questions.
- Writes clearly and informatively.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies or other service providers.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Must be in good standing with BILH if previously employed to be considered.
Schedule
- Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM.
- 32 hours per week on a rotating schedule:
- Week 1: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday.
- Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday.
