Position Summary
As a Mental Health Counselor at Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc., you'll provide outpatient clinical services in an Article 31 setting, supporting individuals navigating mental health and co-occurring challenges.
What Youll Do
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and diagnostic assessments, including risk evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized, recovery-oriented treatment plans
- Provide individual therapy using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care
- Deliver crisis intervention and coordinate with higher levels of care when needed
- Collaborate with medical providers, care teams, and community partners to support whole-person care
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and clinical supervision
- Connect patients to community resources including housing, substance use treatment, and social services
- Maintain timely and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with OMH and Article 31 standards
- Maintain productivity expectations while maintaining quality, patient-centered care
What Were Looking For - Qualifications
- LMHC, LMSW, or LCSW (NYS permit holders encouraged to apply)
- 3+ years of clinical experience preferred
- Experience with trauma-informed care; EMDR experience is a plus
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-based environment
Schedule & Physical Requirements
A combination of sitting, standing, and movement throughout the day. Some evening or weekend availability may be required.
Compensation
$52,000-$58,000 annually
