Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy.
  • Provide intakes, walk-in and emergency appointments.
  • Diagnose students using current nationally and internationally recognized diagnostic systems, utilizing appropriate empirically validated psychological instruments and/or techniques.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based upon evidence-based practices in the field of mental health.
  • Refer as indicated for psychiatric evaluation, specialized treatment, and/or long-term therapy as appropriate.
  • Maintain files to document counseling contacts.
  • Provide clinical services in accordance with current professional standards and adhere to all pertinent local, state, and federal laws governing the practice of counseling.

Requirements

  • Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Licenses & Certifications: Doctoral degree and completion of APA approved internship.
  • Other Requirements: A successful incumbent will actively work toward completing 1,500 supervised clinical hours. The individual must obtain their NH psychologist license within 18 months of hire to ensure continued employment at the University of New Hampshire.
