Mental Health Counselor

About the role

Seeking a full-time Therapist In Training to join a community-focused outpatient mental health team. Under supervision, the role involves conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, providing individual psychotherapy, delivering psychoeducation, maintaining documentation, and collaborating with treatment and recovery teams. The position primarily focuses on individual therapy services, with occasional group facilitation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments
• Develop and implement treatment plans
• Provide individual psychotherapy
• Deliver psychoeducation to clients and families
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Collaborate with treatment and recovery teams
• Facilitate group therapy sessions on an occasional basis

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant mental health field
• Practicum experience
• Eligibility for or holding a Wisconsin “In Training” license (e.g., APSW, LPC-IT, MFT-IT)

Preferred

• Active professional licensure
• Experience serving justice-involved populations
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care approaches
