About the role
The SESLHD Mental Health Service provides care to a local population of over 930,000 residents in the Sydney metropolitan area. Services are provided within both hospital and community settings to support people living with mental illness.
Responsibilities
- Provide mental health assessment, treatment and management to individuals with mental illness in a community setting.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans that promote recovery and well-being.
- Engage with consumers to understand their needs and preferences, and involve them in decision-making processes.
- Utilize computer literacy skills to access and document patient information efficiently.
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and maintain professional standards.
Requirements
- Qualification in Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, or Psychologist, as per Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award.
- Full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Experience in mental health assessment, treatment, and management.
- Commitment to a consumer-focused recovery-oriented approach and consumer collaboration in care planning.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Current drivers license (or willingness to travel).
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Psychologist with a four-year degree in psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using computers and software for patient documentation.

Pay
$79,419.00 - $122,465.00 per annum, plus superannuation.
Schedule
38 hours per week.
