Mental Health Clinician

About the role

This is a responsible professional position with limited administrative and supervisory duties at the unit level. The role functions under the supervision of a higher-level licensed psychologist, but the individual has full professional responsibility for their actions and advice.

Responsibilities

• Completes timely and clinically sound mental health screenings and assessments using approved tools.
• Effectively manages an assigned caseload by providing consistent clinical contact, monitoring progress, and updating treatment plans as needed.
• Facilitates individual and group therapy counseling sessions appropriate for the patient population.
• Completes all clinical documentation accurately and objectively, within required timeframes.
• Responds promptly and effectively to mental health crises, using appropriate clinical intervention to ensure safety and stability of individuals, and documents actions completely.
• Performs other duties as assigned by a superior.

Requirements

• Master's degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a correctional environment.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in high-pressure and emergency response situations.
