About the role
This is a responsible professional position with limited administrative and supervisory duties at the unit level. The role functions under the supervision of a higher-level licensed psychologist, but the individual has full professional responsibility for their actions and advice.
Responsibilities
- Completes timely and clinically sound mental health screenings and assessments using approved tools.
- Effectively manages an assigned caseload by providing consistent clinical contact, monitoring progress, and updating treatment plans as needed.
- Facilitates individual and group therapy counseling sessions appropriate for the patient population.
- Completes all clinical documentation accurately and objectively, within required timeframes.
- Responds promptly and effectively to mental health crises, using appropriate clinical intervention to ensure safety and stability of individuals, and documents actions completely.
- Performs other duties as assigned by a superior.
Requirements
- Master's degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a correctional environment.
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure and emergency response situations.
