Mental Health Case Manager PRN

Job Summary

The Case Manager coordinates the day to day operations of the Behavioral Health Support Services (BHSS) under the direction of the Behavioral Health Director while coordinating all Social Work functions on the Inpatient Unit (2 South).

What you will do in this role

• Identifies opportunities for improvements in patient care.
• Provides documentation of all functions as required by regulatory agencies.
• Works closely with all managed care insurance companies, MCD, MCR or other agencies as needed as well as Case Management, Utilization Management Director, Business Office, Benefits, and Admitting Office in obtaining authorization and certification of days for inpatient or observation days.
• Communicates daily with the Business Office when an authorization is received and with Physician/Nurses when more information or documentation is needed to receive certification.
• Informs Behavioral Health Nurses when clinical information is needed to be entered into the Meditech System for reviews that need to be called into insurance companies.
• Communicates as required by contract with managed care companies either by fax or phone and to log communication.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Bachelors Degree.
• 1 year experience required.
