Responsibilities
- Respond immediately to calls triaged by the hotline as acuity status Emergent, Urgent, Hospital Triage or Jail Diversion.
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention services to both adults and children experiencing mental health and substance use crises.
- Provide intensive crisis follow-up services at a determined frequency until crisis customers are no longer in crisis and successfully transitioned to regular centers or community services.
- Assist with assessing, recovery planning, and rehabilitative services for individuals in the Crisis Respite Program.
- Respond to calls from law enforcement, jails, or judges requesting assistance with mentally ill and/or IDD individuals in need of jail diversion.
- Assist jail-diverted individuals with crisis assessment, LOC5 enrollment, linkage to clinic enrollment, referrals, and follow-up services.
- Respond to calls from Crisis Respite about any issues with respite customers in order to determine if crisis assessment or consultation is needed.
- Complete crisis relapse and prevention follow-up services within 24 hours of the crisis service.
- Report immediately to the crisis supervisor about any barriers to meeting documentation requirements.
- Serve as primary staff for disaster recovery deployment, keeping up with training for Psychological First Aid.
- Participate in disaster assistance at Disaster Recovery Centers, emergency shelters, and other sites.
- Adhere to agency compliance policy and communicate with various departments to foster, develop, and continue community partnerships.
- Treat all individuals with the utmost courtesy, decency, and respect.
- Provide responsive, efficient, and high-level customer service for both internal and external customers.
- Accurately complete bi-weekly timecards, travel logs, and vehicle reports according to Center policy and procedures.
- Participate in semi-annual quality assurance training activity conducted by the identified ANSA/CANS Super User.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or University in the Behavioral Science field of study.
- General knowledge of mental health disorders.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Self-motivated with good time management skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish cooperative relationships with individuals in crisis situations.
- Ability to express self clearly and effectively, orally and in writing.
- Proficiency with computer skills, programs, and email.
Qualifications
- Must learn and use the Trauma Informed Principles in performing assessments with persons in crisis.
- Must maintain a clean driving record and driver's license in accordance with our Driver Policy.
- Requires current Texas Driver's License, reliable transportation, and must maintain current auto liability insurance.
- Crisis outreach staff are expected to work together as a team to maintain crisis services 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.

Benefits
- $50 per on-call shift and $100 per call that you respond to.
- $20.00 - $24.00/hour while completing administrative tasks, meetings or training.
- Specific wage based on previous experience doing a similar role.
- $25 per on-call shift while in training/mentoring.
Pay
- $20.00 - $24.00/hour while completing administrative tasks, meetings or training.

- $50 per on-call shift and $100 per call that you respond to.
Schedule
- Friday through Sundays 5 pm-2 am are the most needed.
- Can do all or some of these shifts.
