Mental Health Adviser
Job Summary
The Mental Health Advisory Service (MHAS) is seeking a Mental Health Adviser to join the expanding team within the Student Counselling Service (SCS). The role involves 1-1 and group sessions, risk management, and care planning for students with severe and enduring mental health difficulties.

Responsibilities
- Complete triage, assessments, and risk formulations
- Create care plans as part of the student support offer
- Deliver 1-1 and group sessions with students
- Liaise with internal and external partners
- Participate in regular team meetings and development sessions
Requirements
- Qualified Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Clinical Psychologist
- Current registration with a relevant professional body
- Exceptional knowledge and in-person experience of supporting people with complex mental health needs
- A good understanding of the specific needs of university students
Qualifications
- Professional body registration includes maintaining accreditation through skill updates and ethical compliance
- Experience supporting university students with severe and enduring mental health difficulties

- Salary range: £39,906 - £44,746 per annum pro rata

- Based on site, with no condensed hours offered
Pay and Schedule
The standard minimum contact is 21 hours or more per week, including essential meetings and handovers, internal liaison, and individual and development requirements.
