Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide mental health interventions for clients as directed by Case Manager and Clinical Supervisor while assisting in day-to-day requirements of Day Treatment programming.
- Review treatment paperwork/assessments and ensure skills are being taught accordingly.
- Ensure that all documentation is completed according to Day Treatment policies and procedures and current governing standards.
- Participate as a member of the Day Treatment team including, but not limited to, assisting in the coordination of the daily program operations, attending weekly staff meetings and maintaining relationships and communication to assure appropriate care for clients.
- Provide family and/or individual skills training as directed by the Clinical Supervisor and document sessions according to governing standards.
Qualifications
- ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ENVIRONMENT: Education, Training & Work Experience
- An individual who is qualified in at least one of the ways described in paragraph (b) to (d) may serve as a mental health practitioner.
- Has at least 4,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to individuals with:A mental illness or a substance use disorder; or A traumatic brain injury or a developmental disability, and completes the additional training described in section 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph (c), before providing direct contact services to clients.
- Receives treatment supervision at least once per week until meeting the requirement in clause (1) of 4,000 hours of experience and has at least 2,000 hours of experience providing services to individuals with:A mental illness or a substance use disorder; or A traumatic brain injury or a developmental disability, and completes the additional training described in section 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph (c), before providing direct contact services to clients.
- Has a master's or other graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields.
- Specialized Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge in mental health interventions and skills training. Candidate must possess knowledge of Trauma Informed Care and be able work with youth using this skill set. Candidate must have the ability to build appropriate rapport with clientele and form age appropriate limits and boundaries.
- Equipment & Applications: N/A
- Work Environment & Physical Demands: Normal classroom environment with related indoor and outdoor conditions. Requires use of CPI methods, which may include infrequent restraint of a client.
