Mens Varsity Tennis Coach

Coaching position within New Hanover County Schools at Laney High School.

About the Role

This is an athletic coaching position responsible for leading and developing student-athletes in a high school sports program.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions.
• Instruct student-athletes in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Oversee the safety and well-being of all participants.
• Coordinate with the Athletic Director and school administration on scheduling, transportation, and equipment needs.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive character development.
• Monitor academic eligibility of student-athletes.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred.
• Knowledge of the sport, including rules, strategies, and training techniques.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by the sports season.
• Valid teaching license or willingness to obtain coaching certification as required by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA).
