Memory Care Director

About the role

TerraBella Senior Living is seeking a Memory Care Director to lead the memory care unit at Morningside of Gastonia. The ideal candidate will have one year of management experience in dementia care and possess strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and leads the overall operation of the memory care unit in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Collaborates with the Activities Director to ensure a variety of appropriate activities are available throughout the day and evening, and that Care Managers are actively involved and engaged with activities.
• Designs, schedules, and facilitates the memory care unit program, incorporating Life Skills and a variety of dementia-appropriate activities; establishes a cooperative relationship with the local Alzheimer's Association chapter or other Alzheimer's advisory organization.
• Schedules and facilitates monthly family support group meetings; supervises Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in the memory care unit.

Qualifications

• One (1) year management experience in dementia care.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Competent in organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedule.
