About the role

The office manager at Danbury Senior Living is responsible for overseeing various administrative tasks and ensuring proper program implementation. This position requires a combination of business experience and specialized knowledge in memory care programs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate a therapeutic program addressing the spiritual, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of residents.
  • Assess resident characteristics and collaborate with other departments to plan and organize program content.
  • Maintain continuity of the program and make appropriate changes as needed.
  • Aid in the development, implementation, and conduct of in-service training and education for staff regarding memory care programs.
  • Establish and maintain a sense of teamwork through effective communication, interaction, and team meetings.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with staff and integrate them with other services.
  • Assess the educational needs of staff and work with the Life Enrichment Director to ensure appropriate education is provided.
  • Market the program through involvement in community organizations and participate in local Alzheimer's and related associations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation that complies with state regulations and community policy.
  • Work with management to develop and maintain written program objectives and procedures for implementation; method of evaluation.
  • Serve as a role model for staff regarding care of dementia residents.
  • Perform a pre-admission assessment for each potential resident.
  • Assist with the resident’s admission to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Assist with the adjustment of the resident and family to the community; contact weekly for the first month post-admission.
  • Keep abreast of current research, new programs, and community resources which may benefit residents and families and make referrals as appropriate.
  • Refer the resident/resident’s sponsor to internal and external services as directed by the Director of Life Enrichment.

Requirements

  • Must be an LPN.
  • Experience with Alzheimer’s and other dementia individuals (Memory Care Experience).
  • Two years of previous experience in programming: including but not limited to: POC (plan of care programs), scheduling staff, coordinating meetings with POAs and families, planning activities, and working with dementia residents in an assisted living environment.
  • Preferred: Three to five years of experience.
