Memory Care Coordinator

About the Role

In this role, you will implement Memory Care Program points of distinction while promoting and integrating the mission and philosophy of Senior Lifestyle Corporation. The Memory Care Coordinator supports compliance with all community policies and procedures and applicable state regulations as they apply to Memory Care. You will champion processes to implement and oversee the Memory Care points of distinction in the areas of Embrace Wellness, Embrace Enrichment, Embrace Creativity, Embrace Connection, Embrace Challenge, and Embrace Teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the company’s Embrace philosophy in all aspects of the role for residents, families, and staff.
  • Implement and oversee the six unique pillars of Embrace.
  • Provide daily oversight of operations in the Memory Care area in partnership with the Memory Care Director and Health and Wellness team.
  • Lead high-quality, innovative programs in Memory Care (primary focus), personally leading a minimum of 5-7 programs per day.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and evaluating resident activities, encouraging resident participation.
  • Provide education, training, and hands-on support to community staff in partnership with community managers.
  • Implement and monitor programs and processes to promote excellence in programming while maintaining high resident, family, and staff satisfaction in a fiscally responsible manner.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s Degree preferred in Social Work, Recreation Therapy, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-3+ years in Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care, Senior Recreation Programming, or Management.
  • Certifications: Activity Director Certified, Certified Dementia Practitioner, or Therapeutic Recreation Assistant.
  • Language Skills: Acceptable fluency in English to perform job duties and communicate with supervisors, coworkers, residents, and third parties.
  • Skills & Ability: Proven leadership experience and demonstrated ability with innovative, person-centered programming.
