About the role

The Activity Assistant at Maple Park Village plays a vital and heartfelt role in enriching the lives of residents. They help create a joyful and engaging environment where seniors feel seen, heard, and valued.

Responsibilities

• Supportive Presence: Connecting with residents to understand and meet their emotional and social needs.
• Passion: Working with individuals experiencing Alzheimer’s disease and other memory-related dementia to ensure they live to their maximum cognitive and physical ability.
• Teamwork: Collaborating with the care team to provide holistic care for residents.
• Time Management: Balancing daily schedules, managing multiple residents, and preparing for activities.
• Creativity: Designing engaging, age-appropriate activities suitable for different physical and cognitive abilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Successful completion of a State-approved Nursing Assistant training and competency evaluation program or a CNA competency evaluation program approved by the State.
• Compassion, Accountability, Relationships, and Excellence (C.A.R.E.) values to residents, family members, customers, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to three months' related experience and/or training.
• Successfully completed a State-approved Nursing Assistant training and competency evaluation program or a CNA competency evaluation program approved by the State.
