Memory Care Activities Assistant

About the role

The Enrichment Caregiver at our company plays a crucial part in enhancing the lives of our residents. We seek individuals who are passionate about making a difference and who can contribute meaningfully to the enrichment activities program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program to meet the diverse needs of residents.

• Conduct activities as needed and encourage residents to participate in activities of interest.

• Coordinate activities with other departments and report back to the enrichment coordinator.

• Lead volunteers and make small group presentations.

• Comply with community policies, training programs, and regulations.

• Provide quality care to residents, including physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

• Ambulate and transfer residents using appropriate assistive devices and follow safety guidelines.

• Communicate effectively with team members and report changes in residents' conditions to supervisors.

• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor towards all residents, visitors, and colleagues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• One year activities experience preferred.

• One year job-related experience in a senior living environment preferred.

• Two years experience as STNA/NA preferred.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Physical ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours a day, sit up to 2 hours a day, frequently support up to 70 pounds, and occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
